Sadly what I got to see first hand is that the Judge's are tilted in favour towards the women, this is supposed to be a court of law where justice should be equal for all not between woman and man and the women is the one who is portrayed as the abused. Abuse happens to all, including men. When will we wake up, equal rights and equal justice for both women and men. This is Canada but the way the courts look at divorce cases is becoming a joke. Provide justice on the basis of a fair trial not on the bases of gender. Why is it automatically decided that a women has descriational right to the children and the man has always got to fight for his rights. In the name of women's rights and all other instance, the courts are making a mockery of a father's (Man's) rights while the mother (woman) is gingling her way to the bank. I have noticed judges not even verifying the facts of the case with the man, although the women has fabricated and lied in court, but the judge will believe her and continue on with the case, what a shame! I request for laws in Canada to become stricter but most importantly fair, just and equal. If we have good mother's out there we have an equal number of Father's too who are willing to walk the thin line for their children and probably take even better care of the children. Just because 85% women are domestically abused every year in Canada do we ignore the 15% of men who are domestically abused? Come on Canada, come on Judge's wake up! Shame on you! Shame on the people who decide law in Canada. Your stupid decisions are destroying people's lives. Fair trial for all, is what is needed because its the children who end up suffering out of your incompetent decisions.
This courthouse is very disorganized and nobody is willing to help. If you have to file papers or submit papers prepare to spend your entire day there. Everyone moves very slow and cases drag out for years.I'm currently fighting a case because my child's mother submitted false income information for me. The judge is nice and thorough, but legal aid is horrible. I went for help and old British lady told me if I don't give her what she wants I can leave her office. My legal aid didn't try to help me or give me options, almost as if she was representing my ex not me. If you go to Legal Aid prepare to hear conflicting information, one day I was right, the next day I was wrongThe most competent person there is Karla, she doesn't judge anyone situation and she listens to the progress when you submit your papers. She always tries to give you a few minutes up advice which I deeply appreciate.
8 years battling I family courts for visitation to my child, judges continue to press fines against me over and over and I know many other fathers are in same sistuation. Due to all this my rears have added up to thousands in payment tho I make them continuously it's based on mothers alligations . But, now I finally giving up from on seeing my child or taking any visitations or access . I gave up after 8 years !! Unbelievable byes towards Fathers!!
Its family court service is run fairly well compared to 47 Sheppard and Jarvis Court houses in Toronto.
This court house has SERIOUS issues with wait times. It is absolutely unacceptable to wait 7 hours for submitting a document. Totally unacceptable. My timeline was: 10:30am I arrived. I waited 30 minutes just to get a number. I was out of the court at 4:45pm. Yes, I waited 7 hours to submit something that took 5 minutes at the clerk. The numbering system is brutal. There is no audible tone to let you know when your turn is coming with the exception of a few, which makes everyone keep their eyes glued on the screen in fear of missing their turn. People are sitting on the ground, tables, on desks due to overcrowding. People are bringing their boyfriends, girlfriends, friends, family members to further clog the waiting area. All I can say is : Welcome to Brampton. Get used to it!
