Gee where to start. As of writing this review, i am currently an active customer, renting a unit. According to Access Storage Brampton North, their website says that the gate hours close at 11pm(correct me if im wrong). So can someone please explain to me, why the hell are people unable to enter at 10pm????? On August 26th and August 27th 2018, at around 10:10 to 10:20pm, my family were trying to move stuff (heavy stuff) into our storage unit, and TWICE WE WERE DENIED ENTRY TO THE COMPOUND! the system would say "Area closed" meaning that nobody can get in or out until 6am the next day. Twice we were forced to come back at 6am, to enter the compound, making three of our family members late for work. I have many concerns about this, not just regarding my situation, but for the sake of others as well. The situation that this put us in was a huge inconvenience and a fairly costly one at that (truck rentals). For a hypothetical example, what if someone enters the compound, and as a result is LOCKED IN because of this error in the system? At that time of night, nobody will be able to come due to it being after hours, leaving poor souls to be stranded in a storage compound for the ENTIRE night. Sure you can call their number and claim an emergency, but the most they can do is phone the manager, and HOPE there is an answer, which most of the time, there is not. The people on the phones try their best to help, which i guess is really nice, but all that is achieved is time wasted and wasted effort. My guess is that the reason this is happening is due to the system not setting its clock to daylight savings time, thus thinking its 11pm when it really is not. Regardless, the incident i had to go through is UNACCEPTABLE and there should be no tolerance for what has happened. Not only does this inconvenience people that need to move(with a short time frame), this also poses a hige security and safety risk, like what if someone gets locked in????? Then what????? I will be bringing this to the attention of head office, and i sincerely hope the owner sees this review and fixes the issue immediately. I will also be seeking compensation for this recurring incident as well. The people working there are nice, and i hate to bring this matter upon them, but when something is going terribly wrong with their own system, im afraid i have no choice. UPDATE: i have called their office and brought it to their attention, they are now immediately working on a fix. Probably just a system error from IT. Person on the phone was cool. Overall customer service here is pretty good, i just had an unfortunate event.
Very disappointed in this storage facility . This was my first and last time using them. I will definitely never be coming back.I called them on Thursday to ask what was needed to rent one of their storage units. I got the information about the form of payment, needing 2 IDs and that we would have access to the storage unit until 11PM. After getting that information, I told them I would make arrangements to either come myself that day or have someone else go in my place to rent the unit.On Friday, I had my aunt rent the unit ( as I was unable to leave work) and she got the same exact information after telling the agent we would move in on the Saturday and again was told we could use our own lock and that we would have access until 11PM. Saturday I arrive around 6:30PM with my entire apartment in my RENTED box truck and my HIRED HELP. We spent a few minutes searching for the unit, as it wasnt where the agent had directed. Once we found it, we discovered it had been pad-locked . I immediately called their emergency help line a little after 6:45PM and was told they would send a message out to the site Manager who would assist. At 7:12PM I hadnt received any updates, so I called again explained the situation to the new agent who then told me the same thing. A few minutes later I got a callback from another agent who went as far as to tell me You should have know to come within office hours to have them remove the lock and I should have told them my move-in date. I then explained that we gave a move in date and that the person at the desk told both my self and my aunt who went in person that we could just bring our own lock and would have access until 11PM. No mention whatsoever of us needing to ask them to remove their lock on the unit I just purchased. So again this agent then tells me she will try to contact the site Manager and that if she cant then she will call to give me authorization to cut their lock, but will not reimburse me for the tool I need to go and buy to do so.At 7:30PM the same agent called me back to say she had gotten in contact with the site Manager, and that we were to wait there as he would be giving us a call and coming to help. A little after 8PM, I hadnt received any call or update - And this place locks down at 11PM- So I call again to ask. The agent there says the same thing. I just have to wait for him to call or come if someone before said they were able to reach him, and that she would send a message to him again. We were also told it would be the same process if we called on Sunday.We waited another hour so roughly 9PMand at that point of course my hired help called it quits and since we hadnt heard back, we decided to go home and wait for the call. It is now 8:35AM on Sunday. I am still waiting. This was my very first time using this service. I am honestly just very disappointed is how everything was handled. The extra expense alone just for misinformation being provided. I am currently looking into a different storage company, I will never be using this one again.
Super clean and friendly location. Storage facility was very well kept and always provided information on discounts. Really impressed.
